“This is about pupils, staff and mums and dads standing up for a basic educational right to a decent school.” Jamie Stone

Jamie Stone accompanied parents of Wick High School pupils to the Highland Council just before Christmas. Simon Harrison, Secretary of the parent council was there to present education chiefs with 300 petition Xmas postcards - designed by Wick High pupils - calling for the replacement of Wick High due to its appalling condition.

This visit by parents was the latest step to replace the school by the parent council and the Wick High Action Group. The issue was also discussed with the First Minister himself during the Caithness Conference and has been raised by Jamie in Holyrood on a number of occasions.

The SNP had "promised" to match the previous Scottish Government's school building programme brick for brick but so far the Scottish Government has not funded a single school.
