Cole-Hamilton: Deprivation gap for dental care now at highest-ever level

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader and health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP has today called on the government to tackle dental health inequalities as new figures showed those from the most deprived backgrounds are now more likely than ever to lose out on NHS dental care compared to those from the least deprived backgrounds.

More than 310,000 school and nursery staff days lost to mental ill health

Speaking on International Day of Education, Scottish Liberal Democrat education spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP has today called on the government to take urgent action to support Scotland’s education sector and tackle "pressure cooker classrooms" as he revealed that 310,739 working days among school and nursery staff had been lost to mental health in just eighteen months.

Number of dentists doing NHS work falls in 11 health boards

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader and health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP has today criticised the government’s “unacceptable failure” to support the dental sector as he revealed that in the first eight months of the year, the number of dentists providing NHS services fell by 8% compared to pre-pandemic numbers.
